  1. Select a respiratory disorder and perform an assessment on a volunteer family member or friend to complete an episodic SOAP Note.
    • You may complete the SOAP note on a patient seen in the practicum setting (if you are enrolled in a practicum course).
  2. The SOAP Note should include an assessment of general appearance, heart, and lungs regardless of the chief complaint.
  3. Include an assessment of other pertinent systems based on the chief complaint and history of present illness (HPI).

  • Activities may include time spent performing assessment of the respiratory system, viewing presentations, and conducting database searches to locate evidence-based practice articles for this week’s Discussion.
